How to Backup Your Facebook Account

These days most of social networking sites like Facebook, Google+ offers data export settings. This means, even if your account is deleted or you’re unable to access it for some reasons, you can easily regain your complete profile data. This feature is called Account archive in Facebook.

It give users the ability to download a backup (copy) of all your important Facebook account data such as: All your uploaded Pictures and Videos on Facebook. Posts on your timeline. Your messages and Facebook chat history. The name of all your friends with their email addresses (depends on their privacy settings).

Whether, you’re are an active Facebook user or intend to take a brief facebook break, it’s advisable to backup your account from time to time. Probably every month.

To backup your account, simply follow the steps listed below:

  • Log on to your Facebook account.
  • Click on the arrow at the top right corner of the page and click on “Account Settings”.
  • Then, scroll down to the end of the page
  • Click on “Download a copy of your Facebook data”.
  • Click on “Start My Archive”

Now, you need to give sometime to Facebook to create your archive. After the archive is completed, you may be informed on Facebook or you can directly visit the page again. If your archive has been created, enter the password and download the archive. It may take takes about an hour for Facebook to archive your data.

This feature is very useful and I believe this backup feature will come in handy.
